I don’t have a yacht.

I was listening to a seminar this past week called “Habits of Happiness”.  The speaker was Matthieu Ricard, a French monk,  who is sometimes called “the happiest man in the world”.  Why is he so happy?

He speaks of serenity, well-being, meditation and the quality of your life experience.  Ultimately, happiness is all about how you perceive your world.

Vic and I don’t have a yacht; we have a canoe.  It’s a flat bottom canoe with a small trolling motor.  That canoe has brought us some of the best times in our lives going bass, speck and blue gill fishing up at Lake Okeechobee.  We used to go night fishing there with only lanterns, flashlights and the stars.   I can remember many days eating sunflower seeds and listening to the fish splashing in the water as the sun came up.  We would sit in that canoe for hours sharing our thoughts, sharing the quiet morning sun and enjoying our life in that little boat.

Simple times and life’s small pleasures.

Take time to nurture your happiness!

Wishing you a little corner of happiness in your busy world!

Satin Doll

We photographed a wedding in Palm Beach County this past weekend. The day turned out to be a perfect one.  The bride was elegant and beautiful in green satin with silver accents and the groom looked stylish in a sharp black tux.

Great catering, jamming D.J. from Miami – (lecompas@aol.com),  no rain, and happy guests!  A great celebration for two really nice people!

Congratulations and best wishes for happiness to Ted and Ava!

The Essence of You

Essence is defined as “the most important ingredient, the crucial element.” Some people say that when you’re preparing a meal the essence of a dish is the spice. In portrait photography, the essence of the photograph is you.

Joy, love, amusement, amazement, contentment, peace, playfulness is what photographers love to capture, and is what makes us smile when we view great photos.  Capturing a great photo is like getting the flavor of the dish just right.

Great meals need an interesting combination of fresh ingredients, cooked just right, flavored to perfection, textured and presented on your plate in a colorful way. The food makes you smile when you taste it.

Great photos need an interesting combination of great light, colors, shapes, lines, textures, and emotions all in one click of the shutter. A great photo can make you smile too.

“To capture your essence and make you smile.”

That’s the most important part of our job!

What’s New

The month of May flew by! I have been scouting the internet for new products. We recently added a few collages. We will be offering seven collages by the end of June. By the end of July we will be offering beautiful custom albums. I will be posting samples to our blog for a sneak peek!

Though we specialize in shooting couples, I was asked to shoot a photo session for Ayana’s portfolio for a casting call that she had a couple of weeks ago. She is an aspiring child model, has a lot of personality, and is a natural in front of the camera. We got a variety of candid fun shots!

Earlier in the month, I was in Denver visiting family and I had the opportunity to join my daughter (who is also a professional photographer – Picture the Day Photography) in shooting two engagement sessions in downtown Denver. It was great fun and we ended up with some terrific photos. I selected 15 of my favorite photos that I took from the first session to design the collage below. Warm wishes and good luck to both Jay and Diana, and Mark and Ashley on their upcoming marriages.

One of my favorite photo shoots will always be known as the orange cabana shoot. Erica found a great orange cabana out by the pool at the Hard Rock Hotel, and it turned out to be the perfect backdrop. I love the color orange in the late afternoon sun!

We already have several upcoming photo sessions scheduled for the month of June!

Feel free to contact us with suggestions, comments, or ideas for your photo session!

Color your world with love

Welcome to our weblog!

We are two South Florida photographers who are inspired by life and dedicated to capturing some of life’s moment’s with our cameras.

Shadows are beautiful; light is amazing; colors are inspiring, shapes are nature’s visual math!

We live in a mathematical universe alive with beauty, complexity and drama.

We are all painting our lives as we live and learn.

We choose the brush, the colors and the canvas.

A moment in time gone in an instant: click, click, click;

the camera remembered the moment.

A billion clicks of the shutter, that is what each of our lives is.

Click, click, click, make your life a work of art.
